Consciousness-Raising Hip Hop Artist Souleye Announces 12th Studio Album, Disguised As Tomorrow, Out March 3rd

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 28, 2022 / Acclaimed genre-bending rapper Souleye is set to release his 12th studio album, Disguised as Tomorrow, on Friday, March 3.

The lead track off the new album, ‘Emergency,’ featuring his wife, seven-time GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette, was released last spring. It was followed by a remix by producer ill.GATES last fall.

Produced by long-time producer Bil Bless, Disguised As Tomorrow features some of Souleye’s most dynamic and ambitious tracks yet, including several riveting collaborations with South African rock artist Esjay Jones, fellow rappers Big Samir and Main Flow, and singer/songwriter and activist Lila Rose.

This latest album was inspired by themes of uncertainty and chaos brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic. It explores the idea that the ‘tomorrow’ we may anticipate for ourselves and those around us may not always be the one that comes to pass. And though out of that can come beautiful new opportunities for growth and self-exploration we may not have initially envisioned. And so, our true future comes disguised as tomorrow.

The new album’s sound is a departure from the lighter tone of Souleye’s 2021 album, hunting teardrops (which spurred several singles including “Ghost Steps,” “Incredible Hulk,” and “Time’s Game”), this time layering in much darker and heavier sounds and themes for a more sonically complex musical journey.

It features 13 new tracks, including recent singles such as “Weight of Your Soul,” “Letter to the Old Me” (feat. Big Samir and Main Flow), “Protected” (feat. Esjay Jones), and “The Unheard” (feat. Lila Rose).
